Humanity: a comparison between darkness and gold Yu Hong’s work in dialogue with Caravaggio’s Seven acts of Mercy a cura di Loredana Gazzara e Mario Codognato

Curated by Mario Codognato and Loredana Gazzara, this new chapter in the series of site-specific interpretations in dialogue with Michelangelo Merisi’s The Seven Works of Mercy features two works by Yu Hong, donated to the Pio Monte della Misericordia. These works document the profound connection between the artist and Caravaggio’s universal archetype, particularly through the monumental canvas Make a Wish (2023), previously exhibited in Venice at the Chiesetta della Misericordia on the occasion of the exhibition Another One Bites the Dust (2004).
